Community
Founded in 1959, we are the most experienced international school in Vienna, with students from 80 countries. Our internationally-trained faculty serves our multicultural families working in the diplomatic and corporate sectors, in the arts, academia, professional sports, and private business. Families experience the powerful feeling of belonging to our welcoming, supportive, and diverse community every time they step onto campus.
Because of the international and transient character of our student body, the average stay at AISV is four years, with approximately 200 new students admitted each year. Many students, however, spend eight years or longer with us. The AIS Vienna community is welcoming and involved, and every family is supported throughout their transition to AISV and Vienna.
Our commitment also extends beyond graduation, with annual alumni gatherings offered on campus and in other parts of the world. We embrace all of our community members as one family, creating bonds that last a lifetime.
We also extend opportunities to friends of AISV and our local Viennese community, including sports academies hosted on our campus and our much loved AIS Vienna Summer Camp, which are open to the general public. The city of Vienna and surrounding areas also make up our extended campus, with their many cultural offerings.
