Early Childhood Community Share

On November 4, our PreK through Grade 1 students gathered in the Elementary School Library for our monthly Community Share.

Every month, our Early Childhood educators use the Responsive Classroom Morning Meeting structure to guide this special time. Together, students practiced greeting one another with handshakes, fist bumps, or high-fives; performed traditional German songs for St. Martin’s Day; enjoyed a read-aloud of Meesha Makes Friends; practiced a mindful breathing exercise; and closed the session by singing our AISV Song.

The primary goal of this gathering is to expand each child’s circle of belonging, helping them recognize that they are part of a community far larger than their individual classroom.

This shared experience allows students to build meaningful connections with teachers and peers across grade levels, ensuring they feel known and valued throughout the school. Ultimately, it fosters a supportive culture where every child knows they have a special place in our wider school family.
