AISV Student Wins International YRE Competition

Huge congratulations to Grade 11 student Olivia Leggett, who won first place in the Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) competition for international schools! YRE is an annual international competition for writers aged 11–25. Its mission is to empower young people worldwide to investigate environmental issues, propose solutions, and report on them through journalistic and creative formats, raising awareness both locally and within an international community.

Olivia’s article, "Lifelines for the Jewels of the Danube: Sturgeon Conservation in Vienna," was selected as the top entry in the Article category (ages 15–18). AIS Vienna has also been awarded €500 in prize money in recognition of her accomplishment.

Excellent work, Olivia! Beyond her contributions to the Eco Committee, Environmental Club, and Gardening Club, she consistently dedicates herself to environmental improvement and sustainability.
