Fostering Connection in Early Childhood
On January 21, our Pre-K through Grade 1 students came together in the ES Library for a Community Share.
Every month, we use the Responsive Classroom Morning Meeting format to structure this time. Students greet each other, share something about themselves, practice listening skills, and participate in a fun group activity. The primary goal of this gathering is expanding the circle of belonging: students learn that they are part of a community bigger than just their own classroom.
This shared experience allows students to build connections with teachers and peers across grade levels, ensuring they feel known and valued throughout the school. Ultimately, it fosters a supportive culture where every child feels they have a meaningful place in our wider school family.
