Professional Development & Collaboration Afternoon

On Thursday, September 24, faculty and staff took part in our first professional development and collaboration afternoon this school year.

We were fortunate to have Molly Ball and Jenny Killion from Erin Kent Consulting join us on campus again. Molly worked with the Elementary School faculty on strategies for developing fluency and comprehension. Jenny facilitated a workshop with Middle School faculty, focusing on writing across disciplines, followed by a workshop with MS and HS English and Social Studies teachers, which focused on developing student writing and research skills.

Glen Karlsson also returned to work with the World Language team, focusing on our strategic goal of developing proficient multilingual communicators. High School teachers attended a workshop on supporting students through the Extended Essay process. Other teams focused on collaboration and alignment of our strategic priorities.

Bogdan Copil led a practical Google Gemini training session designed specifically for non-teaching staff. The session focused on how AI can support administrative work, including everyday tasks like drafting and improving communications, organizing information, summarizing content, and working more efficiently.

Professional Collaboration Afternoons like this allow our faculty and staff to be lifelong learners. Thank you to our Teaching & Learning Office whose efforts made this a meaningful and successful afternoon!
