Middle School Fall Retreats

Our Middle School students had a great time on their retreats last week, September 3 to 5, exploring the Austrian countryside while connecting with their peers and making memories they will not soon forget.

Grade 6
Our Grade 6 students visited the town of Hallstatt for their first Middle School retreat. They toured the historic salt mines, enjoyed hearty meals, hiked to the Five Fingers viewing platform, explored the ice caves, took a scenic boat ride on Lake Hallstatt, and, for the brave among them, even went swimming at the beach.

Grade 7
In Mariazell, our Grade 7 students enjoyed mindful walks, visited the historic Basilika Mariazell, spent time at the beautiful Erlaufsee, tackled a high ropes course, went hiking, explored local caves, built rafts, and ended the retreat with an unforgettable campfire featuring s’mores.

Grade 8
Our Grade 8 students traveled to the town of Rust for their final Middle School retreat. They took part in nature safaris, tried paddle boarding and windsurfing, went on a biking adventure, explored the town, swam in the local lake, and spent quality time with their friends.

These retreats provide valuable opportunities to form new friendships and deepen existing ones. We are grateful to our faculty and staff for their dedication in making these experiences meaningful and for the care they give our Middle School students throughout the three-day trips.

We love having the beautiful Austrian countryside as our extended campus!
