High School Spanish Visits Seville

From April 29 to May 2, our High School Spanish class visited Seville, Spain! This cultural and educational trip offered students a rich, immersive experience in one of Spain’s most vibrant and historic cities. Throughout the journey, students communicated exclusively in Spanish; this created an authentic environment that strengthened language skills while fostering confidence and cultural awareness.

Students participated in local experiences, including a hands-on cooking workshop where they learned to prepare traditional paella. They also attended a flamenco dance lesson followed by a live performance that showcased the artistry of this iconic Andalusian tradition.

The itinerary included visits to several of Seville’s most emblematic sites, such as El Puente de Triana. At the Royal Alcázar of Seville, students explored centuries of history, architecture, and cultural influence. In the Triana neighborhood, students discovered local traditions and artisan culture before relaxing in the gardens of El Parque de María Luisa.

This trip provided a meaningful blend of history, culture, and gastronomy. Students deepened their understanding of the Spanish-speaking world while engaging fully in the language and daily life of Seville, highlighting the benefits of having Europe as our extended campus.
