HS Animal Rights Club

Recently, a group of Animal Rights Club members toured TierQuarTier Wien, the largest domestic animal shelter in Austria.

During the tour, students visited the small animals area, the cat house, and the wing and outside play and exercise areas for dogs. One of the drivers of TierQuarTier's rescue vans spoke with us at length about their efforts to ensure the safety of an array of small to large animals and the range of care that animals receive once they are brought back to the facility (TierQuarTier provides many of its own medical services). With its active adoption efforts (all residents are adoptable), the shelter follows a careful process to help ensure the best chances of animals being placed in their forever homes.

The experience was an excellent opportunity to see firsthand the animals and the facility that may be helped by the club's future fundraising and drive efforts. Animal Rights Club has been proud to donate to Tierheim Krems this year with food and toy drives, and we look forward to serving a local shelter next year.
