Building Community in the Elementary School
On October 5, our Grade 2 through Grade 5 students gathered in the AISV Theater for our regular Community Share.
To kick things off, Grade 2 sang a fantastic song called "Culture Is the Way We Live", a great reminder of why we celebrate different cultures in our international school community! They also showed off the rhythm and percussion skills they’ve been working on in music class this semester.
Next up, Grade 3 shared their Identity Project drawings, with each child creating a piece that represents who they are and how they see themselves. Grade 4 gave us a recap of their recent Collaborative Morning, while Grade 5 walked us through what they’ve learned about the Matter and Energy Cycle, complete with an entertaining and creative video on how to compost. Grade 2 through Grade 5 students also displayed the memory jar artwork they made in art class, in collaboration with the ES Library, to gear up for this week's author visit.
We wrapped up the event by singing our Elementary School song together. We always look forward to our Community Shares because they give our kids a chance to connect, celebrate each other, and build lasting memories!
