ES International Day

Today, our Elementary School students celebrated International Day! They began the day with an assembly focused on this year’s theme, “We Are Changemakers.”

The assembly started with a flag parade, where students proudly displayed handmade flags representing their cultural heritage. It featured choral, string, and dance performances from various grade levels, EAL, and German students, as well as video presentations. One of the highlights was a special performance by Aluna, a local Colombian dance company, sponsored by our AISV Annual Fund. The assembly closed with all Elementary School students performing our AISV song together.

After the assembly, students participated in a variety of International Day–themed activities and presentations, including parent-led country workshops and dance workshops led by Aluna. Students and their parents also enjoyed a Global Potluck, where parents brought national dishes from places with which they share a sense of belonging.

Special thanks to our student MCs, along with the many teacher and parent volunteers who made this celebration of our diverse cultures at AISV possible.
