AISV Seniors Meet Our Youngest Learners

On April 1 and April 14, several of our seniors visited our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms for a unique cross-divisional exchange. The senior organizer of this project, Rion Miller, shared the following:

“We are so lucky to be a Pre-K–12 school and have a close-knit community at AISV, something I wanted to take advantage of to create a special feature in the yearbook. I specifically wanted to highlight the similarities and differences between our youngest students, who are just starting their educational journeys, and the seniors, who are so close to the end of theirs.

I decided to take this on as a CAS project (Creativity, Activity, and Service, one of the core components of the IB Diploma program), coming up with questions for the seniors to ask the preschoolers and kindergarteners and vice versa, culminating in two opportunities for the groups to meet up, ask their respective questions, and have the Yearbook Club take candid photos. While the younger students heavily outnumbered the seniors, everyone had a fun time finding that they may have more in common with each other than they thought!”

We are incredibly proud of our seniors for taking this initiative. They understand the value of our Pre-K–12 environment and continue to serve as exceptional role models for our youngest learners!
