China Meets Austria

On February 4, the AIS Vienna Secondary Instrumental Music Department had the incredible honor of participating in a Chinese Cultural Exchange as part of the annual China Meets Europe concert series.

The day started with AISV welcoming around 50 students from Beijing Haidian Foreign Language Experimental School and Best Experimental School of Shunde Foshan for a cultural exchange performance in the AIS Vienna Theater. Our MS and HS Band and Strings ensembles also took the stage, fostering global connections through music.

In the evening, our Secondary Band and Strings Ensembles performed in a prestigious Gala Concert in the Golden Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein, showcasing their talent on this historic stage. The event concluded with an unforgettable performance by our Grade 8 and High School Band and Strings students collaborating with other musicians from the festival to perform Johann Strauss' infamous Radetzky March.

Bravo to all of our talented musicians for their outstanding performances! We are so fortunate to be able to use the city of Vienna as our extended classroom.
