Annual Fund Brings National Geographic Explorer to Classroom

Thanks to the generous support of the Annual Fund, National Geographic Explorer Rosanna Mangione visited the IB Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) course on March 5. She shared her extensive expertise in crocodilian conservation with the students, helping them explore specific, real-world case studies that they can use in their future exams.

The students were fascinated and inspired by both her academic journey and her field work. The visit also provided unexpected and invaluable benefits: Rosanna graciously offered to share her research data with one student for his Internal Assessment and provided an internship opportunity at the university to another.

Opportunities like this one empower our students to see themselves as the next generation of scientists and researchers.
