Speech, Debate, & Acting Team Succeeds at NESDA Tournament

From March 21–23, our High School Speech, Debate, and Acting team traveled to Rome to compete in the Spring 2026 NESDA Tournament. Twelve of our students competed in various categories, including Debate, Original Oratory, Impromptu Speaking, Oral Interpretation, Duet Acting, and Impromptu Duet Acting.

Following strong preliminary performances and positive feedback from the judges, nine of our twelve students qualified for advanced rounds in Debate, Duet Acting, Original Oratory, and Oral Interpretation.

Two of the team’s veteran competitors were particularly successful, reaching the finals in two events each and medaling in every event for which they qualified. Together, they earned a bronze medal in Impromptu Duet Acting. Additionally, one of these students secured a gold medal for a standout performance in Impromptu Speaking, while the other student earned both a gold medal and the Student Choice Award for an Oral Interpretation of Stephen King’s Misery.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and team spirit our students displayed throughout the tournament!
