Debating Global Issues at the UN

From January 21 to 23, our Model UN club successfully organized the participation of an 18-student team in the MUN Conference at the UN Vienna International Center (VIC). In recent years, the club has also facilitated participation in conferences in Thessaloniki, Rome, South Korea, New York, and twice in Athens.

At the VIC, our students participated in simulations of several UN committees. The students diligently researched their topics to prepare for the conference, engaged in high-level debates, and delivered speeches defending their assigned countries’ positions. Their hard work was respected and recognized with eight of our students earning delegate awards.

It was a memorable experience complemented by a wide range of learning outcomes. A huge thank you goes to our chaperones and to the four leaders of the student-led MUN Club for training their fellow AISV delegates.

Experiences like this help our students see the world and the importance of diplomacy from a broader, richer perspective. We are proud of how professionally and enthusiastically they represented AIS Vienna on a global stage.

Thank you to our Yearbook Club student photographer, Diana K. for the fantastic pictures!
