AISV Students Perform at the Vienna State Opera
On March 8, 12 Middle and High School choir students from AISV celebrated International Women’s Day by performing in a benefit concert at the prestigious Vienna State Opera. The event, titled "RISE! Women’s Voices for Change," serves as a cultural and political initiative advocating for the freedom, equality, and visibility of women.
The evening was a unique collaborative experience, as the sold-out audience of nearly 2,000 attendees, including the First Lady of Austria, Doris Schmidauer, was invited to participate in the musical performance. Under the direction of AISV choir director Anna Wentlent, our students formed the majority of an international girls' choir alongside an impressive lineup of artists such as Rachelle Jeanty, Christina Stürmer, Ilia Staple, Ella Feldmeier, Lidia Baich, Anika Vavić, Mariko Hara, Linda Spa, Vazista, and the Gospelproject.
The concert was broadcast live by ORF, and the video is available for online viewing for the next two weeks. Congratulations to these talented students for representing AISV so exceptionally on one of Austria’s most iconic stages!
