High Schoolers Adventure Across Austria!

From September 3 to 5, our High School classes embarked on separate retreats across Austria. These retreats are an essential component of an AISV education, giving teachers an opportunity to connect with their students. Students also build new friendships, reconnect with old friends, and enjoy exciting, challenging experiences. For many AISV students, these retreats are a lasting memory of their time at AISV.

Grade 9 visited Veitsch, located in the Styrian region of Austria. Their trip focused on team-building activities and hiking, culminating in an evening bonfire that made for a memorable end to their day.

Grade 10 stayed in Lassing, along the border of Lower Austria and Styria. Their itinerary included walking the Mendlingtal gorge trail, hiking, taking part in high-ropes courses, practicing archery, and holding class activities and elections.

Grade 11 headed to Palfau in Styria. Our students made the most of the region by participating in two outdoor activities: rafting on the River Salza, and climbing and zip-lining on the Mendlingstein.

Grade 12 traveled to Schlögen, Upper Austria, for their final AISV retreat. Our seniors enjoyed hiking, swimming, and cycling, and they held their student council elections. On their second day, students participated in sessions with counselors, took a scenic boat ride along the Danube River to Aschach for lunch, gathered for class photos, and closed out the trip with a formal dinner and campfire.

Thank you to the faculty and staff for making these experiences memorable for our students. It is wonderful to see our students challenging themselves while building new relationships as they start out the school year!
