HS Honor Choir in Scotland

Congratulations to our 15 High School AMIS Honor Choir singers that traveled to Scotland to participate in the re-opening of the AMIS Festival season after two years of cancellations. This re-boot included thirteen European and Middle Eastern schools, eighty-seven singers, three days of rehearsals, and a beautiful concert. Singers were able to create lasting friendships and make beautiful music in a safe learning environment.

A huge thank you to the Conductor of the Festival - our very own AIS Vienna Choir Director, Mrs. Kathy Heedles, the chaperones, and the parents for supporting the students. These lovely singers can feel proud of themselves as ambassadors for AIS Vienna! You can still catch the concert via the live stream link, which begins at about 20 minutes.

Parent Chaperone Testimonial:

"As a parent chaperone, I had the unique opportunity to be part of the AMIS HS Honor Choir festival held in Aberdeen, Scotland March 16-20. The festival this year was very special - it was heralded as the "rebirth" of the AMIS movement.

Throughout the festival - current AMIS Board members, founding members (Richard and Georgia Bassett), and all the music educators of participating international schools from Europe and Middle East applauded Mrs. Heedles for her talent, creativity, commitment to music education in international schools, and of course her teaching skills. Her achievements and contribution to the HS AMIS Honor Choir and her association with the famous Vienna Boys Choir were mentioned by the music educators frequently during the festival.

AIS Vienna Choir students and their parents are very proud to have Mrs. Heedles as one of their music educators at school, along with her constant support and nurturing of their passion for singing."

- Rupa Bhattasali, HS Honor Choir Parent Chaperone
