On Tuesday, February 25, we celebrated the Austrian tradition of Fasching. Students in the Elementary and Middle School wore costumes and held fantastic assemblies to scare away the ghosts of the winter. Teachers also created wonderful learning experiences in the classroom, which all supported a greater understanding of this tradition and Austrian culture.
Since 1959, we have offered opportunities for students to be immersed in the local culture of our host city, country, and region. Now, 60 years later, this is just one of the many ways we continue to use the local community and language as part of our curriculum.
