American International School of Vienna Choral Program Invited to Perform Carmina Burana in New York City's Avery Fisher Hall

Distinguished Concerts International New York City (DCINY) announced today that director Kathy Heedles and the American International School Choirs have been invited to participate in a performance of 'Carmina Burana' on the DCINY Concert Series in New York City. This performance at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall is on March 10, 2014. These outstanding musicians will join with other choristers to form the Distinguished Concerts Singers International, a choir of distinction. Dr. Jonathan Griffith, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for DCINY states: "The American International School students and their director received this invitation because of the quality and high level of musicianship demonstrated.... These wonderful musicians not only represent a high quality of music and education, but they also become ambassadors for the entire community. This is an event of extreme pride for everybody and deserving of the community's recognition and support."

Earth Week - April 22-26

This year, Earth Week will take place from April 22-26, and we would like to invite everyone to participate. Support our school wide goal to reduce the use of paper and to reduce the number of plastic water bottles used. Good Knight Assembly

Girl Effect Walkathon 2013 - Success!

This school year, the second annual Charity Walkathon for the Girl Effect took place on April 28, 2013. Enough money was raised to send a girl to school for a year at the Daraja Academy, a boarding secondary school for exceptional Kenyan girls. Vienna International Science and Engineering Fair

The Vienna International Science and Engineering Fair was held on March 23, 2013. Students in the AIS Middle and High Schools competed against six international schools. As part of the judging process, students were interviewed by scientists from the IAEA and the UN. The students had a great time and enjoyed a banquet in their honor on March 28, held at the UN. Congratulations to all the students who participated!

Girl Effect Walkathon 2013

The Grade 10 class at AIS is the proud sponsor of the Girl Effect Walk-A-Thon, a charity event to benefit the Girl Effect Foundation in Africa, in order to keep a young girl in school. It will take place Thursday, 28 March from 3:30 – 5:00 PM. It is open to all AIS students, families, staff and friends of all ages.
