Parent-Teacher Forum
Greetings from the Parent-Teacher Forum! We are a group of volunteers made up of parents, administrators, teachers and staff, who ...
- Help families adjust to AIS and to life in Vienna by providing information about the school and this beautiful city;
- Host various events throughout the year to build a stronger sense of community;
- Raise money that we reinvest into the school for the benefit of our students;
- Come together as a group once a month to get updates and stay informed about current events in the school;
- And work with the administration on common issues.
Every AIS parent, teacher, and staff member is automatically a member of the AIS PTF. Join us at our monthly meeting to stay informed and help us support our school.
Every 2nd Tuesday of the month during the school term
8:30 a.m. in the Faculty Lounge by the cafe.
Our meetings and events are posted in Scoops - the school's weekly electronic newsletter.
Newcomers
Welcome to your new school and city! We are committed to helping you with your transition. We hope that you'll attend our Newcomers' Coffee on August 28 (January 22 2013 for mid-term students) and other social events. These are great opportunities to meet new people and learn more about school at AIS and life in Vienna.
Check out our Newcomers Package, prepared to assist you with living in Vienna.
We can't wait to meet you!

Country Coordinators
Our PTF Country Coordinators are parent volunteers who serve as points of contact for families coming to AIS from specific countries or regions of the world. They help to ease the transition of our newcomers and create country/regional communities within AIS.
Calendar of Events 2012-2013
All School BBQ, 8 September 2012
The school and PTF welcome all families to this meet-greet and eat event to kick-off the school year.
UN Day, 18 October 2012
This school event teaches ES students about the United Nations and the many countries who are part of AIS. A morning assembly in which UN representatives participate is followed by a "tour of countries" in the school gym --tables hosted by the PTF Country Coordinators who provifde fun ways to teach our children about our diverse countries and regions.
Halloween Harvest Celebration, 31 October 2012
Now a school day celebration for all ES students -- costumes, games and we're betting on candy, too.
Winter Market, 1 December 2012
A new event this year, start your winter/holiday celebration here with art and crafts, gift ideas, and festive fun for all.
Bingo Night, 26 January 2013
A slice of pizza or a plateful of pasta and a winning Bingo card make for a great Saturday night with your family made even sweeter with the candy round. Register early; this is usually a sell-out.
Variety Show, 2 March 2013
Our Variety Show showcases talent from all members of the school community. Who knew your teacher could juggle? Sing, dance, play an instrument, or read poetry, share it with us!
International Food Festival, 4 May 2013
An amazing event if you pardon the bragging. Our annual IFF brings together the best cuisine and culture we can offer. Complete with a silent auction for the grown-ups and a basket raffle for the young ones.
Flea Market, 25 May 2013
Our flea market is a community treasure. Need new skis? An English book? A German book? An electronic appliance with the correct number of prongs? Find it here. Shop or rent a booth and sell your stuff. This is a true trash-to-treasure extravaganza.
Newcomers' Coffees, 28 August 2012 and 22 January 2013
These informal informational get-togethers for new parents are organized twice a year: once in the fall for new parents and again after winter break for parents whose children join us mid-term. It is a great place to meet the school administrators and other new parents and ask questions about life at AIS and in Vienna.
