Parents Meet ES Principal Finalists December 6

After an extensive selection process, the ES Principal Search Committee has invited three finalist candidates to visit our campus early next week. We are excited for these outstanding educators and administrators to meet and interview with our community. Parents will have a chance to meet and listen to the finalists on Tuesday, December 6, 9:50-10:50 AM in the Faculty Lounge (in between ES Winter Concerts). The three candidates will speak individually with the group for 20 minutes each. Parents in attendance will be asked to provide their written feedback at the end of the session.

The parent voice is extremely important for the Search Committee to make their final recommendation. Parents with ES students are encouraged to attend; all parents are welcome.

New AIS Website Launch

As stated in an email on Monday morning, we are pleased to announce the launch of a newly redesigned AIS website. The new website went online Monday at 15:00 making the entire AIS website fully functional on all desktop and mobile devices.

Navigating the new website is very similar to how it has been in the past. Please take a look at the following two links for a brief overview of some of the new features:

We hope that this transition is as seamless as possible. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact JT Hilliard with any website-related questions.

Choir News and Upcoming Concert

Congratulations to the AIS High School Choir members for their wonderful performance on November 25 for the opening of the International Adventsingen in the Grossersaal of the Rathaus. The choir consisted of 30 singers who performed works from Handel’s “Messiah” for thirty minutes. Special thanks to Carmen Enge and Beatrice Caiado, Soprano soloists for the event. Click here for photos.

The entire project will be premiered on December 14 in our AIS Theatre for the Winter Choral Concert for Middle and High School singers. Be sure to mark your calendars and come for our celebration of music!

Holiday Band and Strings Concert

Our O Block, 7th & 8th Grade, and HS Strings and the O Block, 7th & 8th Grade and HS Bands will be performing their Holiday Concert on Tuesday, December 13 starting at 18:30 in the Theater.

Please note: We are kindly asking all students and parents to stay for the entire concert. It is important that all students hear and support their classmates. If you attend a professional concert, the musicians are there for your entertainment. At our school concerts, the parents and family members are there for the musicians – all musicians, not just their own child. We will work hard to keep the concert to one hour, so please plan your time accordingly. Performances are a large part of a student’s quarter grade and staying for the entire concert is a part of this. We are looking to cultivate a more respectful and professional atmosphere at our AIS Concerts.

Thank you for working with us to achieve this goal.

Susan Seekirchner & Ben Detrick

Vienna (HS/MS) Downhill Ski Championships
