Shape Our Future
We are very excited to announce that our school is coming together to set the course for our future. Shape Our Future is a community-wide campaign which includes:
- 5-year Strategic Plan (facilitated by Adele Hodgson, ECIS)
- 10-year School Accreditation (conducted by Council of International Schools & Middle States Association)
The 2011-2016 Strategic Plan has come to an end and in a few short months so will the 2008-2018 School Accreditation. The Executive Board and Administration have used these documents to guide work toward major accomplishments over the past decade.
After a successful weekend with the 32-member Strategic Planning Task Force (SPTF), AIS has a new Strategic Plan 2016-2021 that will guide our school community for the years to come. We thank both our facilitator, Adele Hodgson, and the SPTF for their passion, active engagement and thoughtful leadership.
Participating in these rigorous exercises not only advances our standing as a top international school in our region and the world, but also give us a chance to hear every voice in our community. Together, we have created a forceful strategy and action plan for our school.
About Adele Hodgson (ECIS), Strategic Planning Facilitator
Adele Hodgson is a respected and recognized name in the world of international education and has a unique knowledge and understanding of AIS Vienna’s history. As a fluent German speaker and a regular visitor to Austria and Vienna she is well acquainted with the market within which the school operates.
Founded 50 years ago, ECIS is one of the strongest brands in the world of education and as such is the natural choice to provide the type of consultancy support needed to its members and global investors. All ECIS consultants whether they are drawn from our internal or external teams have been closely vetted and are required to meet the highest possible standards.
About Council of International Schools (CIS) & Middle States Association (MSA), School Accreditors
Schools around the world join CIS for guidance, support and access to like-minded peers as they develop challenging international programmes for their students. As a global organisation, CIS helps schools access new international educational practices, gain recognition for accomplishments, attract qualified staff, facilitate student connections with leading universities around the world, and provide a quality international education experience to students and parents.
CIS School Evaluation and Accreditation is an evaluation process that drives a school’s continuous improvement, through:
- rigorous evaluation against internationally-agreed standards;
- a blend of support and challenge, focused on a school’s development; and
- a peer-based model that brings together international educators from across the world of CIS-accredited schools.
CIS is a non-national, non-regionally affiliated organisation and the status of CIS Accreditation confers an international recognition to stakeholders all over the world. The status of international accreditation demonstrates a school’s commitment to high quality international education to the school community as well as to the outside world: prospective families, educational leaders and teachers as well as universities, embassies, other government departments, and global companies and organisations.
