Job Goal
Planning, preparation and teaching of lessons for grades 1-5 for German Native and Non-Native German speaking students at all language levels.
Assumes responsibilities/duties within the Elementary School faculty (faculty meetings, hall duties, open house, parent-teacher-conferences, extracurricular activities, report writing etc.)
Education and Experience
Teaching certificate for Elementary (DaF/DaZ- German as a Foreign Language or German as a Second Language is an advantage), preferably with experience working with elementary school students
Experience in working with children from multicultural backgrounds preferred
High level of German proficiency required
Proficiency in English speaking, reading and writing

Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
Strong knowledge of best practices in second language acquisition.
Ability to collaborate on the planning and development of the curriculum with the German Language department
Create and design assessments based on AIS learning standards

Reports to
The lead supervisor is the Elementary School Principal. However, this teacher will work and be responsible to the German department teachers on a daily basis.
Performance Evaluation
The Elementary School Principal evaluates the overall performance of the teacher.
Compensation
The annual gross salary range for this position is 42923-59779 Euro (full-time). The exact salary depends on relevant qualifications and experience.
